Ophia
I created a game called Ophia, a pixel art-based 2D platformer where players navigate through levels to reach the end. While most games typically progress from easy to hard, Ophia takes a different approach. In this game, the difficulty of the levels can shift throughout the gameplay, offering a unique experience. The concept behind Ophia was inspired by the idea of using the game as a distraction for mothers experiencing postnatal depression. The fluctuating difficulty reflects the challenges that postnatal mothers often face, with the game's changing nature symbolizing the emotional ups and downs of recovery. I wanted Ophia to be a tool for relaxation and a form of light entertainment, providing a simple, engaging experience that offers a break from the stress of everyday life. It serves as a gentle, accessible way for mothers to unwind and enjoy a game without the pressure of constant difficulty progression. Please note: this is a conceptual project and not an actual, functional game.
