For this brief, I worked with a university in Ukraine that required a rebrand reflecting both its long-standing history and its future ambitions. The main challenge was to develop an identity that felt modern and professional while still respecting and preserving the university’s heritage. I chose the sunflower as the central visual direction, as it is Ukraine’s national flower and a powerful symbol of resilience, optimism, and cultural identity. I combined this with cog-inspired shapes drawn from the university’s motto, “Work and Initiative,” allowing the identity to bridge heritage and progress in a clear and meaningful way. To support the rebrand, I created a brand book outlining the logo, typography, colour palette, and key brand applications. I focused on clearly communicating the reasoning behind each design decision, while also providing practical guidelines to ensure consistent use of the identity across both digital and print platforms. I kept the brand book simple and accessible, particularly as I was unable to fully pitch the project due to WiFi issues during the presentation.
